Ghosts are an attraction …

In many places, including Colonial Williamsburg. Humans only think of them as former representations of themselves. No one ever thinks of the spirits as canines. Not only are we also spirits, but we are the best. We exist in many cultures and in many forms. Some ancient peoples would even bury dogs with their dead to ensure that the souls of the deceased would be protected from evil spirits and guided safely into the afterlife. Fortunately, doodles did not exist then. But we are very useful in communicating with the spirits, particularly during the season known as Halloween. I’ll deny that I told you this, but while Richard doesn’t admit believing in ghosts, he is less enthusiastic going out for our 9 o’clock walk during October. He uses an extra flashlight and walks just a little bit faster. If it weren’t so feeble I would think it is cute. He just doesn’t get it. While he is with me, he is completely safe from anything in the third world. On the other hand, none of you are with me, are you? ……..Best of luck

  1. Oh Duchess,
I totally agree there are ghosts in our neighborhood. I mean last night we went out about 9:00 and headed toward our side yard. I stopped immediately and Mom said, “oh Lily, don’t be a scaredy cat!” And I said, “there’s a ghost in this yard!” And she repeated her remark. “Boy was she surprised when the doe showed up in the flashlight beam just gently moving into the bushes! Oh, so it wasn’t really a ghost but we were all surprised at the proximity of said deer and decided to cut the walk short. They were mumbling about being trampled or something. But it could have been a ghost!!!!!!”

    Always on guard, your faithful,

    Lily
