This doodles life passed before her eyes today, while Jethro was tooling along a very winding road between Boone and Blowing Rock in North Carolina. Have you ever had a deer dart out in front of you? Well, we had a bear. Not a huge bear, but a very black bear. The bear made it across the road. No one was hurt. Jethro nearly lost it. But I kept my bladder.

I’m so happy you’re both OK! Last summer Bruce met a bear on the way to our mailbox, but the bear was more frightened than Bruce. When you return home, I’ll tell you about my encounter with turkeys while driving on a Sunday morning.
I think I’d rather meet a Bear than a wild turkey.

Wow, a bear! I’ve seen a deer close up two times this week in the hood and I thought that was a big deal.But a bear? I hope I never see a bear and I’m pretty sure my Mom feels the same way. I went over to your porch today and tried to look into your window. I thought you were going to be home today and I was very disappointed that you were not at home but wow, now with this story about the bear….im just glad ou are ok.
We are ok too, really. We settled in for the big storm, well my Mom went to the studio, of course, but no storm…..yet. She sold two more little paintings today. Her Maui Relief fund has sold 6 pieces out of the 22 available and she is very happy.
Ok that’s it from me tonight. Hope you’re coming home soon. We always miss you.

About the time you had your experience with the fox, I heard that a bear had been seen in Kings Mill….so you might see one at your weekend house. What an adventure life can be!
