My apologies to everyone for the brief break in my visits. The truth of the matter is good old Captain Jack needed a timeout. While in Yorktown, he came upon this 110 foot dinghy. That is all he has been talking about. He was even ranting for two nights about selling his house and his airstream and living on this thing permanently. I tried to talk some sense into him and almost had him convinced until he said that he had planned on calling it “The Duchess”. This added a new wrinkle into things, since I have never had a boat named after me. I have to say that even I was confused
. Fortunately, things are back to our normal, and the proverbial “ship has sailed“. So here I am, back to work.

Dear Duchess,
I wondered ….. a boat, a dinghy, well there are apparently a lot of them out there right now. I mean who doesn’t want a boat when the leaves are turning golden and the price of slips is the highest of the year and when boat covers are so inexpensive, not to mention, all of the stuff a boat requires, not to mention…… oh never mind, you and Cap’n Jack probably already have an off premises storage unit? I swear I don’t know what I’d do all day if you didn’t give me exciting new projects to fill my doggie daydreams! Really, what color life jacket should my mom purchase for me???
Best,
Lily
Hahahahaha… that’s all we have to say. xoxo Your friends, Holly, Rosie & Sandy

Happy to see that you and Cap’n Jack have returned Earth and you have cut the lines on his marine folly. A yacht of such length and girth requires a full time crew that would demand significant compromises re your privacy. There would always be someone poking around in your “bubble”! Moving an Airstream is not without some expense, however that cost pales in comparison to the cost of 500 or more gallons per hour of diesel fuel each time you want to reposition your high tide condo! And maintenance…..you don’t have to be very creative to imagine the costs each week! AND….finally, GATORS are not limited to swamps………….they too cruise in the oceans and bays of the south.
Land HO!
Jeff
Welcome back Duchess, you were very much missed. So glad you are going to remain on land.
Fondest Love,
Mackenzie

I enjoy Captain Jack aka Jethro aka Indiana Richard’s ‘flights of fancy’ but then it doesn’t impact me like it does you.
Wonder what’s next?
So happy to hear you are back and Richard decided not to become a sailor! We all need to put on our thinking caps and see what we can find to occupy his time. 💕
