This is so exciting….

Jethro just told me he is going to move the Airstream to Savannah, Georgia in November of this year, 2023.

While I have never been to Savannah, in 1760 I had a friend named Boozer. He was a 10 year old scruffy dog hanging around Chownings Tavern for scraps of food. Boozer used to live in Savannah, Georgia in the early 1750s. He would tell me about the strange goings on when he scrounged for scraps at a local inn. According to Boozer, while he was in Savannah, a strange map was lost when a notorious captain named Flint died at the inn. A mate of the captain name Billy Bones ran off with a fake map, and years were spent searching for some treasure off an Island.

According to Boozer, the original map was hidden under a cobblestone in the floor of the Savannah inn. In 2023 that Inn is now called the Pirates House.  When we get to Savannah, I am going to have Jethro take me to the Pirates House, and “we” are going to find the original map.  $$$$$

  1. Having taught Treasure Island to my eighth graders for many years, I found today’s post very entertaining……and it made me feel good that all those names were familiar. Good luck on your treasure hunt, Duchess!!!

  2. Savannah sounds like a great choice! The airstream factory here in Ohio, is quite an amazing place. I had no idea it was here! My friend that I am visiting said her dad worked at the plant when she was a kid.

  3. Savannah is one of my favorite places. You will love the squares and park like setting. There are great antique stores and I know how much Jethro likes checking out the second hand places. You may need to restrain him.

I think you should turn these blogs in a series of children’s books. I think they’d be a hit.

    WOW DUCHESS!
Look forward to seeing you on your treasure hunt. You’ll be pleased to know that many of our shops are well stocked with jerky! I suggest that prior to your arrival, you read the book, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Savannah can be and eerie and spooky place so don’t forget to travel with your Thunder Vest. Safe travels in your new “Alumaninium”! We’ll keep the lights on for you!
